Buy DVC Resales Before Jan. 19th!
With the exciting Star Wars Galaxy Edge coming to both Disney Land and Walt Disney World later this year, after Disney decided to raise its ticket price twice in a year, Disney Vacation Club is trying to squeeze more money from its customers as well.
Effective January 19th, 2019, only Disney Vacation Club Members who purchase directly from Disney will be able to use their Vacation Points at the 14 existing Disney Vacation Club Resorts or future Resorts, such as Disney's Riviera Resort or Reflections, A Disney Lakeside Lodge. Resale contracts purchased for the 14 existing Disney Vacation Club Resorts will only be able to exchange Disney Vacation Points into those 14 Resorts.
This is a big deal for all the existing and future Disney Vacation Club members because this announcement brings a significant change to the DVC product. In other words, after January 19th, 2019, the DVC, as a time-share product, is becoming a different one. This change is so significant that it could have negative impacts on the values of the existing and future DVC contracts!
The Points Daddy believes that the DVC is probably the BEST way to save money for Disney vacations. In my opinion, this is the only option that could potentially provide years of Disney vacation stays in deluxe resorts for FREE or even MAKING MONEY. Yes, you heard me right! It is possible that you can make a little money after taking all the expensive stays at Disney deluxe resorts like Polynesian, Beach Club, Animal Kingdom Lodge, etc. This could be another good blog article at another time.
If you are interested in buying into DVC from resale market, please seriously consider doing it before January 19th, 2019. By doing so, you will be grandfathered in and enjoy the original DVC member's privilege of exchanging DVC Points at all the existing and future DVC Resorts. After January 19th, the DVC is changing or downgrading to another version. Please note that you only need to submit a signed resale contract to Disney by this date. Theoretically, you can find a seller or a broker, sign a resale contract, and submit it to Disney in a day. However, I would highly recommend you do it sooner rather than later.
Do it now!
